The work

"Sakana no Machi" is a dark, surreal digital artwork reimagining a dystopian city where fish with legs roam the streets as dominant, sentient beings. These fish, ranging from small sardines to massive tuna, have evolved to walk upright, their fish-like bodies still glistening with scales but supported by muscular, humanoid legs. Their unsettling diet further heightens their bizarre existence—they feed on human flesh.

Reversal of Roles and Power Dynamics

The concept of fish dominating a city while humans are reduced to prey flips traditional power dynamics. Humans, often the top predators in their environment, are now the hunted. This role reversal may comment on humanity's exploitation of nature, specifically overfishing, environmental destruction, or consumption habits. By imagining fish as sentient beings feeding on humans, the artwork challenges us to rethink the ethical implications of our relationship with the natural world.
